Duke, Alaskan Malamute (Eskimo sled dog), neutered male, micro-chipped (number on file with Hawaiian Humane Society). I lost Duke on May 19, when I was bringing a horse trailer down from Turtle Bay to Waimanalo. I stopped several times to check the trailer and at one of the stops, Duke jumped out of the truck. I didn’t realize that he was not in the truck when I drove on. Duke is a very handsome, much admired dog, my husband’s buddy. He has longish coat, dark grey on back, cream face, legs and bushy, light tan tail. For those who aren’t familiar with Malamutes, we describe him as looking a bit like a wolf. He is a little reserved with some but mostly friendly. He was wearing a collar without his tags. He is picky about food and only good quality turkey dogs, meat, fish or high quality dog or cat food will tempt him. If trying to secure the dog, don’t try to drag him along with hand on his collar. He will pull back and resist. Instead, clip on a leash, or attach a rope and he will lead easily. We can be contacted at 259-0223 (Glenn) or 398-6089 (Liz), or 230-4557 (Natalie). There is a reward being offered. For more details on Duke go to  www.olomanagardens.com/dukealaskanmalamute.html

Roxy has been missing since Thursday Morning on September 3, 2009. She Went for a ride with my husband to take my daughter to school 5 blocks from my house. After dropping her at the school her continued on to 7-eleven to get some cash to buy Grandma a special breakfast as this was her 90 birthday. After getting cash from the machine he continued on to the L&L behind 7-11 & purchased grandma her favorite breakfast. Upon returning home he realized that she was no longer with him & we immediately began to search. We have had a few calls & have been lucky enough to have been able to rescue another dog similar to her but much larger. A police man also aided us in the rescue of that animal & we thank the HPD for all their help in this trying time. So if you are missing a dog something like Roxy but much larger, the HPD in Ewa Beach Area picked her up on Monday of this week. Roxy is timid but will warm up after a while. She is about 11" high at the shoulder. She is mostly white. Her markings are a reddish /brown or rusty color that cover her head with exception of the tip of her nose & under her neck, which is white as is her tip on her tail which curls over her back. Depending on how well she is eating, she could weigh between 9-12 lbs Her ears are erect but when tired or timid feeling they will lay back. Her name is Roxy The last confirmed sighting was on Thursday morning she went missing, where a kind grandmother, while riding her bike with her granddaughter on her way to school at Ewa elementary on Papipi & Fort Weaver Road. Saw her cowering in front of traffic that was honking at her. Not being street smart she just froze on the spot. The nice woman dropped her bike & picked her up, placing her in the the Ewa Elementary school grounds because she did not know what else to do with her. That is the last confirmed sighting of her. I have filed a police report. she is not micro chipped. she is timid. She had no collar because i had just bathed her that morning. We dearly miss her & her sister is depressed without her. Please call 689-6675 home (Denise) or 386-2310 (Norman) or 277-4426 (Brandi) if you find out anything. We are truly grateful for your time & assistance.

My dog escaped from our home in Kalihi on Saturday night/early Sunday morning. He is a 1 y/o Brindle Pit bull, un-neutered, has his ears cut, and has a small scar on his forehead. He is super friendly and I have attached a picture. If you hear of any dog matching this description that is found would you be able to contact me: Tiare Ohelo 772-9124 or Bradah Ohelo 636-4841.

This is Brownie as a puppy.. we got him in 1997. He more or less looks the same just older.. the black around his snout is much lighter almost grey and his hair is longer.. but he still holds the same characteristics. He was lost during the tsunami evacuation in Ewa Beach in the area of Pohakupuna Rd and Hailipo. He has a microchip. If you need additional information please feel free to call me at 626-5945 or e-mail me at jrrodrigues@clearwire.net.

We received an email on August 9th  telling us that Brownie was back home and doing well.
