Adoption Policy (as of January, 2009)
Due to the new breed ownership restrictions in the
revised
US Army pet housing policy, issued January of 2009, any dogs
that fit the following descriptions cannot be adopted to members of
the US Army and/or their families: ANY and ALL Pit Bull, American
Staffordshire, Bull Terrier and Bull Dog breeds, Rottweilers,
Doberman Pinschers, or Chows. This includes both purebred and
mixed-bred dogs. |

| Say hello to Cinder!
Cinder is a beautiful, brindle hound mix. She is almost 8
years old and weighs about 70 pounds. Cinder enjoys gentle
treatment and a calm household. She is never demanding of
your attention, but she really likes to be petted and have
her ears scratched! When you come home, Cinder will greet
you with a sweet dance and, sometimes, a toy. When she is
curious about something, she will give you a soulful gaze
that will melt your heart! Cinder likes to go on walks but
at a leisurely pace so she can sniff everything along the
way! She also enjoys the occasional tug or toss of a toy and
she likes relaxing—lots of relaxing! Cinder is house-trained
and knows basic obedience commands. She has been spayed and
micro-chipped and is current on her shots. She would
probably do better in a home without cats. If you
can provide Cinder with a loving, forever home, please

| This happy, bouncy puppy is
named Buster! Buster is a 5 month old
(February 2011) Chihuahua mix; he weighs 10 pounds. He has
been vaccinated and is scheduled to be neutered and
micro-chipped on March 1st. Buster is curious about everything
and he loves to explore his environment. Some of his
favorite things include playing with tennis balls and
stuffed toys and going on walks. What he likes best of all,
though, is people—he loves to cuddle! Buster is currently
being house-trained and he is learning some basic obedience

| Meet Oneone!
(pronounced oh-nay-oh-nay) Most people call her One. One is
a four year old lab/beagle mix. She weighs about 65 pounds,
has been spayed and micro-chipped, and is current on her
shots. One walks very well on a leash and she listens well;
she can sit, lie down, and shake. She doesn’t mind being
around children and cats. In fact, she seems to like
children and wants to be close to them. Right now, she is a
little timid and is showing some separation anxiety, but her
foster family is working with her on these issues. The
foster family reports, “We love having her in our home and
she is just easy as can be to have!” If you are an

Sauza! Sauza is a 9 month old
Chihuahua. She weighs about 7 pounds and is current on her
vaccinations. She will be spayed and micro-chipped soon.
Sauza is a typical, feisty little puppy! She loves to play.
She doesn’t care what she is going to do next—she knows it
will be more fun than what she’s doing right now! Sauza is
learning some basic obedience commands and is being

cute, little terrier mix! She is about 5 years old and weighs
approximately 18 pounds. Boo is very affectionate and loves people
of all ages. She gets along well with dogs and with cats. Some of
her favorite things include lying around the house, going on
leisurely walks, and jumping into swimming pools. She has been
spayed and micro-chipped and is currently learning some basic

pit mix. He weighs about 40 pounds, is current on his shots,

rambunctious dog that loves to run and play, but he also
likes to cuddle with his humans. Like most puppies, Rosser
enjoys playing with stuffed toys and chasing tennis balls.
He gets along well with kids and with other dogs. He is

| This happy senior citizen is
named Max! Max is a 14 year old lab
mix. He weighs about 65 pounds, has been neutered and
micro-chipped, and is current on his vaccinations. Aside
from a little arthritis, he is in good health. Max is a
low-energy dog and is happy to lie around the house. He
enjoys short play-dates with other dogs and he will chase a
tennis ball from time to time, but he’s at the stage in his
life where he likes to take it easy! Short, leisurely walks
are ok, but he would probably prefer to take the car! Max
likes kids and he gets along well with other dogs, but he
doesn’t care for cats. Max is still enjoying life and he
needs a family to love him for a few more years. If you have

| Meet Hercules!
Hercules is a 95 pound, one year old, Bull Mastiff mix. Like
most puppies, Hercules loves to run and play! If you will
throw a tennis ball or stuffed toy, Hercules will chase it
all day long! He also enjoys affection from his favorite
humans. He would like to be a lap dog, but he’s a little big
for that! He is learning some basic obedience commands and
how to walk nicely on a leash. Hercules hasn’t been
well-socialized and can be a little anxious in new
situations, but his foster family is working on that and
reports he is doing better every day! Hercules has been
neutered and micro-chipped and is current on his shots. If

| This happy, bouncy puppy is
named Tiny! Tiny is a 12 week old,
Hawaii's-finest mix. She weighs 6 pounds. She has had her
first puppy vaccination and the second is due at the end of
October. She will be spayed at about 5 months of age. Tiny
is curious about everything and shows her excitement by
wagging her tail just as fast as she can! She loves to
explore and to play and to snuggle. Tiny loves kids and
probably thinks she is a human baby—she even has a baby
carrier for going on walks! She gives excellent back
scratches when you sit on the floor or, if you’re lying
down, she'll happily walk on your back for that gentle, much
needed, evening massage. What she likes best of all, though,
is being told to sit—just so she can get those treats! She
is very treat/food motivated. Tiny is currently puppy-pad
trained and is continuing to learn basic obedience commands.

Cash is a 5 month old Chihuahua mix. He weighs about 3½
pounds. Cash has been vaccinated and will be neutered and
micro-chipped soon. Although he’s a little purse pup, Cash
really prefers to walk on his own four paws! He absolutely
loves to run and play with the other dogs and chasing a
tennis ball (small, of course) or playing with stuffed toys
is almost as much fun! House-training and work on basic
obedience commands is underway and he is learning to walk

Simba! Simba is a one year old Cairn terrier mix. He weighs
about 20 pounds, his vaccinations are current, and he has been

gets really excited when it’s time to go for a walk! Exploring every
tree, mailbox, bicycle, and whatever else is near the sidewalk is

Meet Pepper! Pepper is a
6 year old lab mix. He weighs about 70 pounds, his vaccinations are

be outdoors and really enjoys walking and hiking. He also likes to
ride in the car and he doesn’t care whose car it is! Just walk by an
open car door and he is ready to jump in and go! Pepper hasn’t had
much experience living in a house so his foster family is working on
some house manners and practicing basic obedience commands. Pepper

Ernie's 3rd birthday will be in January. Ernie has
impeccable social skills with both dogs and people. He loves
to run and play but equally enjoys a good cuddle on the
couch. Ernie has been with his foster mom for only 2 weeks
and has already learned to sit and shake. If interested in

mix. He is about 3 years old and weighs approximately 20
pounds, although he will likely be closer to 25 pounds after
a few more weeks of regular meals! Clyde likes everybody

see him smile, just scratch behind his ears! Clyde is being
house-trained and is learning some basic obedience commands.
He has been neutered and micro-chipped and is current on his
shots. He was recently treated for a heartworm infection and
should be cleared for normal activity in the next couple of
