Position: Adoptions Assistant
In order to get our dogs adopted, we post them on
our website and also showcase them at Meet & Greets. We receive email
and paper adoption applications for the dogs. If an application looks
good, we will let the applicant do a trial sleepover (up to 2 weeks)
with the dog they apply for. Assisting the adoption coordinator
includes the following tasks:

Attend Meet &
Greets, answer adoption-related questions from attendees,
explain adoption process to attendees, review adoption
applications. |

Conduct house
visits at adoption applicants' homes to ensure that they are
suitable for pets. Often we do the house visit when we drop the
dog off for a trial sleep over. |

|
Help adoption
coordinator with phone and email correspondence. |
|
|
Assist with dog
transport whenever possible (i.e. take dog to sleep over, or
pick up dog if sleep over doesn't work out). |
|
|
Adoption assistant
should be familiar with current adoption donation amounts,
adoption application process and status of each HDF dog. |
