We often receive similar questions regularly! In order to assist our potential adopters and the Hawaii Dog Foundation volunteers, please check to see if we have answered your questions.

1. How long does it take to hear back after I've applied to adopt a dog?

Answer: Typically it will take 48-72 hours as we are a group of all volunteer. Please look in your emails, including your spam/junk boxes!

 

2. I applied to foster a dog. When do I hear back?

Answer: Our foster coordinator typically will respond by phone call and/or email within 72 hours.

 

3. Why would I not qualify for a dog I applied for?

Answer: Housing/breed restrictions such as military or housing that requires a doctors note for an animal. Non-compliance with HDF requirements 

 

4. How much is the adoption donation?

Answer: Dogs 1+ years: $300. Dogs under 1 years old: $250

 

5. Do we take donations?

Answer: We do! Un-opened dog food (with exception), collars, leashes, crates, towels/blankets, toys, treats, toys, gently used items, etc.

Adoption Event / Meet & Greets

To schedule a meet and greet, please fill out an adoption application in its entirety and ask for the dog, by name and we'll give you call to set it up.
